on this section of the website, I will be talking about my journey to becoming Dr. Black Barbie -- the good, the bad, and the ugly. you may ask where the name Dr. Black Barbie came from, and honestly I don't remember, but it's stuck with me for a couple of years now. yes I want to ultimately change lives, but that doesn't mean I can't also do it in style. when I finally become another Black woman in medicine, I'm going to stand out by default, so I might as well stand out as my full and most confident self.
this portion of the website will be a little like a website within a website. I'll have a separate newsletter if you want to subscribe to just this section instead of the entire website. I debated add this section to the website for a very long time. parts of me really wanted to and some parts of me really didn't, mostly because of fear. even though there are parts of my process i want to keep to myself and a few of those close to me, there are still certain things I wanted to share. i saw a need, and I want to fill it the best way i can. this section serves a different purpose than the blog section of the website simply because this portion of the website is geared toward other aspiring physicians. the topics discussed will mostly be surrounding medical school, but I may also include some things about graduate programs since I'm also heavily interested in research.
to keep up with my journey to medicine and access information that may be helpful, follow Dr. Black Barbie on Twitter!
